Conference Overview

In the Old Testament book of Joel we are given a divine strategy for seeking a Godly solution to a presenting problem. The problem is significant enough to get one’s attention and the strategy is to gather together with confession, repentance and humbly cry out to God for His help.

In Joel’s day the people of God were under judgment for their idolatry and disobedience. The judgment was manifest in a locust plague followed by a drought, followed by wild fires resulting in a famine. This definitely got the peoples attention. The prophet Joel gave a very simple, yet profound, solution to their dilemma: call a solemn assembly.

What did Joel tell them to do and why? That is the focus of this teaching mission. We will look at the DIVINE STRATEGY given by Joel to the people of Israel. This strategy is six-fold and straight forward and is just as relevant today as it was then.

The idea of gathering together to ‘Cry Out to God” combined with the ancient Christian discipline of fasting is a powerful way of uniting the people before the Lord with intention and earnest desire for God to move and bring the help that is needed.

This conference will give you foundational teaching and offer practical suggestions as to what a Solemn Assembly could look like in your church. It is our hope that corporate intercession will become a regular ministry in your parish life. We will help you cast a vision for how this can unify the church before God, praying for His power and glory to be made know in your midst. We are also convinced that this type of prayer will release God’s power and blessing on your church and community in a new way.
